Memories Without Borders – film screening and discussion 5 December 2013
There will be a film screening and discussion with Dr Laurence Broers, on Thursday 5th December at 6.15pm. The meeting will be held at UCL, Room 305, 26 Bedford Way Building, WC1H 0AP (Tavistock Square end).
Memories Without Borders traces legacies of violence stretching from mass murder in ottoman Turkey in the early 20th Century, to war in Nagorny Karabakh in the 1990s. The joint work of a team of Turkish, Armenian and Azerbaijani film-makers, Memories Without Borders challenges audiences to ask: what do we choose to remember about others, and what do others choose to remember about us? A glass of Georgian wine will follow the discussion in the Common Room next door.
Laurence Broers from Conciliation Resources will introduce the film, which lasts 50 minutes, followed by a discussion, which will include Georgian themes (Laurence has a PhD on Georgia).
